We do not collect information from people under 18 (see section 11).

3. Why we use it

  • To create and run your account and the marketplace (matching, chat, jobs, reviews).
  • To show your public profile and work to other users.
  • To show nearby results and maps.
  • To verify providers and prevent fraud, abuse and fake accounts.

We ask for your consent where the law requires it, including before sending your data to a third-party AI service and before we use your location. You can withdraw consent at any time (section 9).

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information.

  • Other users. Your public profile, showcase work, reels, posts and reviews are visible to others. Chat messages go to the person you are talking to. Job details go to providers who view or respond to the job.
  • Service providers that work for us, under contract and only for our purposes:
    • Stripe, Inc. (card verification, paid plans and add-ons);
    • Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications; Google Sign-In; Google Maps) and Apple (push notifications; Sign in with Apple);
    • map and geocoding providers;
    • cloud hosting and file storage providers;
    • third-party AI providers (section 6).
  • Legal and safety. When the law requires it, to respond to valid legal requests, to protect people from harm, or to protect our rights.
  • Business changes. If TaskZing is sold or reorganised, your information may move to the new owner, which must follow this policy.
  • With your consent or at your direction.

Some providers are located outside Canada (for example in the United States), so your information may be stored and processed there and be accessible to courts and authorities in those places under their laws.

5. Advertising

The TaskZing app does not show third-party ads today, and we do not use your device advertising ID. If we add ads in the future, we will update this policy first and ask for your permission where the law or your device requires it.

6. Artificial intelligence

TaskZing uses third-party AI services to power search, recommendations, the ChatZing assistant and speech features. The data sent can include job titles and descriptions, service categories, public profile and showcase text, what you type to the assistant, and audio for speech features you choose to use. We do not send payment card details, passwords or private financial data to AI services. Data is sent over encrypted connections, and providers must protect it. The names of the current AI providers are available on request at customercare@taskzing.com. AI output can be wrong. See the Terms.

7. How long we keep it

  • Your account data is kept while your account is open.
  • Deleted accounts: when you ask us to delete your account we wait 90 days (you can cancel during that time). After that we delete or anonymise your data, except what we must keep by law or to prevent fraud and abuse.
  • Verification documents are deleted 30 days after we review them.
  • Card data is held by Stripe. We keep only what we need to know that you are verified and the status of any paid plan.
  • Reports and moderation records are kept as long as needed for safety, to enforce our rules and to meet legal duties, and in any case no longer than 3 years after a report is resolved.
  • Records for tax or legal reasons (for example paid plan invoices) are kept as the law requires.
  • Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle.

8. How we protect it

We use encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring and least-privilege access. Payment cards are handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS compliant, and we never store a full card number. No system is completely secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

9. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you access to your information and a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong;
  • delete your account and information (Settings > Account, or the public page at taskzing.com/account-deletion);
  • stop using your information for a purpose you agreed to, by withdrawing consent;
  • explain how we handle your information, or make a complaint.

To do any of these, use the settings in the app or email customercare@taskzing.com. We respond within 30 days. A self-service data export is not available yet. Until it is, we send a copy by email on request. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or your provincial privacy regulator. You can also block or report other users in the app, control who sees your following and follower lists, and turn notifications on or off.

10. Marketing messages

We send service messages you need (security, account, job and message notifications). We send marketing messages only with your consent, as Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) requires, and every marketing message has an unsubscribe link.

11. Children

TaskZing is not for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete it. If you think a child has an account, email customercare@taskzing.com.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. For a material change we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The "Effective" date at the top shows the current version, and we record which version you accepted.
